Reading through the Wall Street Journal today there was a great interview with the solo artist formely known as Bill Gates’ underling. Steve Ballmer’s role is changing at Microsoft and in this first one-on-one interview, Mr. Ballmer goes over some of the finer points like how you can count on Microsoft competing with Google and “being excellent” at that competition (although Beating Google is not said). So will Steve’s historically strong will and desire to be number 1 at everything he does get them to number one? Or will the rest of the leadership ensure technical prowess and real innovation in the years to come?
……….My bet is on the latter
